Dear Parents and Students of Room 203,
Welcome to Room 203's website. Please be patient with me as I am learning how to input information on it. I am so excited to work your children this school year. Please come to open house Wednesday September 10th from 3:15-6:00pm. If you are unable to make open house, I will post the powerpoint from the evening to this website for you to view. This is a page where you can find out about monthly activities and accomplishments in our classroom. I also use Class Dojo to communicate on a weekly and daily basis.
Please email me with any questions or concerns,
Students will also be getting homework each night. The homework is the same subject format for a 5 day school week. Writing is the only subject that will be assigned on various days.
The homework schedule is:
Monday-Reading Log assigned (due the following Monday), This log encourages the students to read every night. This log will count for their book reports. Please remember that students need to have 25 book reports by April 2019.
Friday- Finish Reading Log
This is a wonderful way for us to stay connected about your child's behavior and I will update you with daily and/or weekly events. I will be handing out your student's pin number at Open House.
Wednesday-Art and Design
My name is Kristen Low and I have been teaching at McPherson Elementary School since 2000. For the 2018/2019 school year I will be teaching second grade in room 203. I am looking forward to this opportunity and working with all the students!
This is my 18th year in the education field. During the course of 18 years I have taught Kindergarten through fourth grade. My teaching philosophy is to "break down the walls of the classroom" and teach children how subjects connect with one another, and how what they are learning applies to their everyday life.
The staff, students, and family members at McPherson have made it a wonderful learning community to work in everyday. When I am not teaching I enjoy traveling, cooking, playing tennis and spending time with friends, family and my sons Michael(4) and Andrew(2).
