What's going on in February!!
Writing: Students are learning how to formulate an opinion with the objective of persuading their readers.
Reading: We will continue to look at Story Elements, but will look further into Non-Fiction texts. This month we will also be identifying the main idea and supporting details, as well as cause and effect.
Math: Please continue to work on Addition and Subtraction Facts. We will be focusing on: Measurement and Data: Reading a Clock to the quarter hour. Reading a clock using 5 min intervals. Reading a chart: Which had the least? The most? etc. Using a ruler to measure to the nearest inch. Base Ten: Decomposing numbers (hundreds, tens, and ones). Expanded Form
Science: Land and Water forms Vocabulary: hill, plain, mountain, ocean, lake, river, rocks, erosion, weathering. Social Studies: Presidents past and current. Black History Month
