Greetings, and welcome to my page
My name is Mr. Cadotte, and I am the Health and Physical Education teacher for primary grades K-5. The 2017-2018 school year will be my sixth year teaching at McPherson, and my eighth year overall. I graduated from Northeastern Illinois University in 2009 with a BA in Physical Education and Health, and am currently working towards my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership.
The goal for my students has always been for them to develop an awareness about the importance of physical activity, and the ability to make smart choices in regard to maintaining a healthy body and mind. I have achieved this through implementing a program that includes cardiovascular training, strength training (body weight exercises), individual/dual and team sports, and team building. My Health curriculum has included lessons on nutrition, hygiene, injury prevention, social and emotional health, community and environmental health, and anatomy. I look forward to helping my students continue to build on these concepts, and develop into healthy, well-rounded members of the community.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my wife Lili, and three boys, Nate (19, a Sophomore at St. Norbert College), Alex (8, a 3rd grade student here at McPherson), and Thaddeusz (6, a 1st grade student here as well). We are avid runners, and enjoy participating in a variety of outdoor activities. If you see us out and about in the neighborhood, please stop and say hi.
This marks the sixth year that myself and Mr. Hajiharis have worked together at McPherson, and we welcome a new member to our team, Coach Maks. We are excited to continue to bring a world class approach to the Physical Education/Health programs that are offered at our school. With a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a large main gym, as well as many after-school sports and programs, McPherson will continue to be a champion for student achievement, and a leader in student wellness in the community. All of our students will receive 120 minutes of Physical Education this year, as well as 60 minutes of Health. We are very excited about this new schedule, as it will give us an opportunity to be more engaged with our students. We are looking forward to a great year!!!!!
