Sports, Clubs and Activities

At McPherson IB World School, we believe in fostering well-rounded individuals through a diverse array of sports, clubs, and activities. Embracing the International Baccalaureate (IB) learner profile, we strive to cultivate balance in every aspect of a student's life. Explore our vibrant extracurricular offerings that not only enhance academic learning but also contribute to the development of holistic, balanced individuals ready to take on the world.
Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is excited to offer a robust elementary sports program, offered to all 5-8 graders at CPS district-managed and charter schools.

CPS is committed to ensuring all students have the opportunity to participate in school sports. Not only does participation in school sports maintain mental and physical health, but it also develops qualities such as good sportsmanship, integrity, respect, and teamwork. To ensure all elementary school students who wish to participate in a sports program have the opportunity to do so, CPS has made some changes to our elementary sports offerings to ensure we can continue to maintain our no-cut policy.

Elementary sports (CPS Score!) will now be broken up into two programs, CPS Score! and CPS Score!+. The focus of CPS Score! has changed to be a skill development league that will allow students to compete within their own school. CPS Score!+ is the new competition-focused interscholastic league for all elementary sports.
