Regional Gifted Center » Overview

Overview

Aligned with the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, the school's units will explore the same IB transdisciplinary themes. The learning environment will promote student-led projects, cooperative learning, collaborative opportunities, and the acquisition of the Spanish language. Enrichment activities and partnerships will extend learning, and all students, including those in the Regional Gifted Center, will undergo assessments at the start of the school year to gauge readiness in reading and math. This data will guide teachers in implementing differentiated instruction.

Students in the Regional Gifted Center will actively participate in lunch, recess, field trips, and after-school enrichment programs, blending seamlessly with the entire student body. Embodying the IB learner profile traits, McPherson students will contribute positively to their world through action and service, celebrating the rich diversity within the learning community. Engaging in all school activities alongside their same-aged peers, students will have various opportunities across grade levels to showcase their classroom achievements.
